No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.
I live in the United States. It is a free country. In the United States, we can choose to be who we want to be. We are free to be Christian or Non-Christian. The choice is ours. I know there are some countries that do not allow such overt freedom and people are persecuted merely for their beliefs.
This song reminds me that no matter how the world requires me to feel, think, or act, I have authority from the Almighty God to give my life to Him. No one can take that away from me.
In the sense that we come to the Lord, we have authority over our life. No human being can give that authority to us and no human being can take it away.
The consequences of this world have no meaning to me, because I know that from the moment I gave my life to the Lord, I simultaneously received the gift of eternal life in His heaven. And, in my mind, that is a life worth looking forward to.
Have a beautifully blessed day!
